Exciting times for Griffith Junior Tennis Players. A Medibank Junior Development Series Tournament is to be held in Griffith Sunday March 30th. All age groups are catered for from 11 years and under, 13 years and under, 15 years and under and 17 years and under in both boys and girls events. The MIA Open Championship will run for it’s 95th consecutive year this June Long Weekend! For those that have played in this event before, you know how good it is. The MIA Open Championships, Griffith's longest sporting event, is held every year over the June long weekend. This is the 98th Tournament! The Championships includes singles, doubles and mixed events for both seniors and juniors. Save the date for a weekend of playing or spectating on 9th, 10th & 11th of June 2018. 2020 will mark the 100th year of Griffith’s longest running sporting event, the MIA Open Tennis Tournament.
The tournament began in 1920, and has run every year since – we’d like to celebrate this Milestone year by remembering the tournament’s rich history, acknowledge the importance and contribution that events like this have in a community, and of course by making the 2020 MIA Open the best yet!
We are inviting anyone who is interested in participating in the planning and organisation of the event to join us -
The 2020 Club Championships will be held Friday 16th October from 5pm. Registration for the champs is free but I'm afraid that we won't be holding a BBQ this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Come and join defending champions, eager hopefuls and the rest of us for this annual evening of great tennis, great company, and of course, the chance to get your name written into Griffith Tennis Club history on the board!
